Colombia news - Piedad Cordoba

Colombian opposition senator Piedad Cordoba started a visit to Spain
Monday to seek support for her efforts to mediate the release of FARC
hostages.

The senator, who mediated the release of six hostages earlier this year, but is accused by the government of collaboration with the FARC, is meeting with members of Congress, regional parliamentarians and leaders of political parties and social organizations.

The visit has as objectives “to explain the situation of the negotiations for the freedom of the hostages held by the FARC and to present the conclusions of a seminary on Colombia,” Luis Nieto of the Justice Platform for Colombia said.

Cordoba will stay in Spain until Saturday
