Peso drops amid U.S. finance mayhem

Colombia’s peso opened down 1.9 percent at 2,090 pesos to the U.S.
dollar amid market jitters over Lehman Brothers’ filing for
bankruptcy.

The Colombian currency closed trading on Friday at 2,051.05
pesos versus the greenback.

Global markets fell sharply on Monday as investors sought
less exposure to risk after the news of the collapse of the
giant U.S. investment bank. (REUTERS)
