Six former members of paramilitary group AUC Thursday were sentenced
to sixty years imprisonment for the massacre of forty fishermen in the
north of Colombia in 2000.
The six member of the AUC’s northern bloc were under the command of
extradited warlord ‘Jorge 40? when they brutally slaughtered forty
fishermen in the municipality of Sitio Nuevo, Magdalena in the early
morning of November 22, 2000.
Three members of Colombia’s armed forces were investigated for their alleged part in the massacre, but were acquitted. (EFE)
