Pacific music festival moved to Cali stadium

Cali’s Petronio Alvarez music festival venue has been switched due to its overwhelming popularity.

This year’s Petronio Alvaraz festival will be held at the Pascual Guerro stadium from August 24-28, the online newspaper El Pais announced Wednesday.

In previous years, the Pacific culture festival has been held at the Plaza de Toros. The event organizers said that the festival has outgrown the plaza.

Last year, according to the secretary of culture and tourism of Cali, at least 4,000 spectators were unable to access the stage on the last day of the festival.

By contrast, the Pascual Guerrero stadium will offer substantially more space and seating.

The stadium can hold up to 15,000 spectators and also has ample room for stalls with local food and crafts of the Pacific.

The complex has been newly renovated for the U-20 World Cup games to begin on July 29.
