The XIII Festival ‘Petronio Alvarez’ will take place in Cali from
August 13 until 16. Visitors can enjoy folklore music of the Pacific
and of black communities of northern Cauca.
It is not known exactly how many bands will participate because musicians who live in villages in the middle of the jungle don’t have the opportunity to sign up. But organizers count with 800 artists, singers, instrumentalists and dancers.
The Festival will be held in the Plaza de Toros in Cali. 12,000 visitors are expected each day.
There will also be a competition with a prize of 9 million pesos for the first place, 5 million for the second, 3 million for the third place.
