Organizers referendum want investigation

Organizers of the referendum demanding the possibility of Colombian
president Álvaro Uribe to be re-elected asked to be investigated by the
country’s Prosecutor General to rid themselves of any suspicion about
malicious funding.

The organizing political party Partido de la U says it is “making anything relevant in order” for the Prosecution.

The finances of the referendum are currently being investigated by the national Electoral Council. According to this council, the referendum’s largest donor, a non-profit foundation called Colombia Primero is not able to show where it got the money for its donation from. The foundation doesn’t even have an address.
