Ordoñez sworn in as Attorney General

Alejandro Ordóñez Maldonado was sworn in as Colombia’s new Attorney General Thursday.

Ordóñez takes the place of outgoing Edgardo Maya Villazón, who led the country’s Public Ministry for the past eight years.

The appointment by Congressled to protest by Colombia’s gay groups, who object to Ordóñez’ conservative catholic views.
