Obama to visit Colombia in 2012: Reports

United States President Barack Obama will visit Colombia in 2012, several Colombian media reported Thursday.

According to newspaper El Espectador, a White House official said that Obama will attend the Americas Summit which will be held in the coastal city of Cartagena in April next year.

“President Obama has been clear in his desire to visit Colombia and looks forward to the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena,” the newspaper quoted the anonymous official as saying.

According to the newspaper, 34 heads of state from the hemisphere will attend the summit.
