The Colombian government and electoral authorities asked the
Organization of American States (OAS) to examine electoral processes for the
2010 Presidential election a year in advance.
The OAS usually oversees electoral processes three months prior to an election. Colombian authorities requested that teh process begin a year in advance
Minister for Justice and the Interior Fabio Valencia Cossio said.
