OAS head to visit Colombia

Organization of American States (OAS) Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza Monday began a tour of Latin American and the Caribbean that will include a visit to Colombia on Tuesday.

As part of a tour of the region, Insulza will meet with Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla in San Jose and attend a session of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights Monday before flying to Colombia.

The OAS leader is scheduled to meet with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, as well Vice President Angelino Garzon, Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin and Congress President Armando Benedetti.

Insulza will also attend a meeting with the OAS’s Mission to Support the Peace Process in Colombia. He will leave Colombia for Haiti Thursday.
