No more smoking in Colombian bars

Smokers in Colombia will not be allowed to light up a cigarette in
bars, restaurants, theaters and universities after December 1. There
will be a complete smoking ban in all public enclosed buildings.

Colombia’s Ministry of Social Welfare warns that bars or clubs that ignore the ban will be fined and even risk being closed after they continue to refuse to impose the law.

The ban, introduced by Welfare Minister Diego Palacio, is supported by Colombia’s association of bars, Asobares.
