No goals, but lots of rain in Saturday’s Copa Mustang action

by Jonathan Roorda April 12, 2009

Colombia news - Envigado rain

No goals were scored in this week’s first three Copa Mustang matches,
although one of these was suspended due to heavy rains shortly after
the start.

The day’s action began with the match between Envigado and Junior but referee Mauricio Sanchez was forced to suspended the game after just nine minutes. The remainder of the match is expected to be played next Wednesday.

Deportivo Cali hosted Cúcuta Deportivo at Pascual Guerrero stadium but neither side managed to leave a very positive impression. The first half went by without major highlights and although Cali did at least push a little more after the break, they were unable to actually make a difference.

The match between Atlético Huila and Once Caldas, played at Guillermo Plazas Acid stadium of Neiva had the exact same goalless result.

On Sunday, Deportes Tolima get a chance to defend their lead away to Boyacá Chicó in Tunja. Another highlight should be the classic between Independiente Medellín and América de Cali.
