New host elected for Colombia’s E! network

The Colombian division of E! Entertainment Latin America, a TV network dedicated to entertainment-related programming, has elected the new winner of Chica E! Colombia 2012 to charm its viewers.

25-year-old Dayana Zamar Delgado Contreras from Cucuta in the northern Norte de Santander department has been voted as the new Colombian E! representative, winning the title over Sylvana Gomez and Diana Mina.

E! chose three finalists out of 1,500 Colombian girls between the ages of 18 and 25 who entered to be the next Chica E! Colombia and present on the entertainment network. Participants had to register on the website Chica E! Colombia and upload a video in which they answered a surprise question.

The three finalists then had to dazzle a jury and win the votes of viewers who ultimately decided the winner. Delgado received 37% of the votes, deeming her the new Colombian E! representative in the annual contest.

“Last night I had the most marvelous night of my life…I was elected Chica E! Colombia 2012! After a month of hard work, preparation, and getting to know absolutely wonderful people, the award has arrived!” said Delgado on the contest’s website.

Delgado has been an anchor in both news and entertainment news and has participated in several beauty pageants in the past, making her a natural candidate to host on the network.

Now the social beauty has the opportunity to host a special program on E!, as well as receive gifts from sponsors including anything from hair accessories to a brand new car.

Delgado is the third Chica E! Colombia, succeeding Karen Bray (2011) and Alexandra Santos (2007).
