Brazilian airline TAM is considering opening a new flight route between Bogota and Sao Paulo in early December.
The Brazilians announced the possible new route at the ABAV Fair of the Americas, an international tourism trade fair held in Sao Paulo, RCN Radio reported Monday.
According to the radio station, additional direct flights between Colombia and Brazil will vastly expand the tourism flow between the two countries.
Colombia received 36,147 Brazilian tourists between January and July 2010, an increase of 39.7% over the same period in 2009. In total, Colombia received 47,494 Brazilian visitors in 2009.
Colombian representatives presented a new Portuguese-language tourist guide book at the ABAV-Fair of the Americas, a Brazilian trade fair for the tourism industry.
Colombia’s delegation at the fair also talked to many Brazilian travel agents and tour operators to attract more foreign visitors to Colombia.
