Jailed DMG director David Murcia will meet magistrates of Colombia’s
Electoral Council this week to testify about his alleged support for
the re-election referendum held in 2008.
According to Electoral Council magistrate Joaquín José Vives, the accused money launderer will talk to the council Wednesday in Bogotá’s Picota prison where he is being held.
Murcia last week told Colombian media he had spent US$2 million on the logistics of the referendum that seeks the 2010 re-election of President Álvaro Uribe.
“He should provide evidence to show it is true what he says,” Vives told Caracol Radio Tuesday.
