Mockus rules out alliance with PIN

Presidential candidate Antanas Mockus said that an alliance between his Green Party and the Partido de Integracion Nacional (PIN) would be “extremely odd,” reports RCN Radio.

Mockus’ comment came in response to a question about whether he would consider making an alliance with the PIN.

Mockus said that an alliance with the Conservatives, the Liberals, or even Polo Democratico Alternativo would be possible, but not with PIN.

The Green candidate said that his party were “working on alliances with other parties” but that any alliance would only be formed after the first round in the presidential elections.

“We welcome people who are prepared to fully embrace the Green Party’s principles,” said Mockus.

PIN has been criticized for its members’ ties to politicians jailed for parapolitics.
