Missing helicopter found in south Colombia

Armed forces on Monday found the crash site of a missing helicopter in the rural area of Trujilo in southern Colombia’s Valle  department.

The helicopter, travelling between Panama and Peru on Saturday evening, disappeared 20 miles west of the city of Tulua, Caracol Radio reports.

Colonel Javier Delgado, deputy commander of the Marco Fidel Suarez air base in Cali, on Sunday explained that “the heavy rains continue to impede on the search efforts. We have aircrafts circling over the site but unfortunately these do not have any visual contact with the ground which is jungle and mountainous.”

The three Mexican passengers and the Colombian pilot did not survive the crash.
