A mild, M5.3 earthquake shook the northwest of Colombia early Tuesday morning, leaving no reported damage or injuries.

According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was in Los Santos, a municipality some 20 miles south of Colombia’s fifth largest city, Bucaramanga.

The earthquake took place at a depth of 152 kilometers (94 miles) just after 1AM.

While the earthquake was felt strongly in Bucaramanga, local media and authorities reported no damage or injuries.

Because of the country’s location at the foot of the Andes mountain range, earthquakes are common in Colombia.
