Microsoft trains Colombia’s displaced and demobilized

The program “Mi Llave” (My Key) trains people to offer ICT services to small businesses and was already running in the cities of Monteria and Valledupar. The second phase of “Mi Llave” allows 6,000 people in Barranquilla, Barranvabermeja, Buenaventura, Santa Marta, Tierralta and Villavicencio to benefit from the program.”These strategic alliances strengthen the reintegration process and gives participants, their families and their communities the opportunity to enhance their skills and competences, enabling them to become self-sufficient in the future and generate income to support their families,” presidential adviser Frank Pearl said.The agreement was signed in Medellín by Pearl and Pedro Julio Uribe, manager of Microsoft in Colombia. Colombian President Álvaro Uribe and OAS Secretary General José Miguel Insulza were present at the ceremony.
