Medina sentenced to 3,5 years house arrest

by Adriaan Alsema June 25, 2008

According to the court, Medina had “decided to betray the trust and collective interest in exchange for gifts and bureaucratic promises in her personal interest.”Medina earlier had admitted she had changed her vote about a constitutional change to make a quick re-election of Colombian President Álvaro Uribe possible. She accuses Uribe and (former) members of his administration to have offered her the bribes.

The Prosecution is currently investigating her accusations.
