Medellín hold Nacional, Tolima collect first points

by Jonathan Roorda November 28, 2008

Independiente Medellín held city rivals Atlético Nacional to a 1-1 draw
to maintain their lead in Group A of the semi final stage in the Copa
Mustang II. Deportes Tolima beat La Equidad to move into second place.

The Medellín classic had Nacional, officially playing at home, open the score through Perea on 69 minutes.

But the many away fans present at the stadium had a reason to celebrate only two minutes later when Corredor levelled the score for DIM.

After a goalless first half in Ibagué, La Equidad took the lead on 51 minutes. Tolima refused to accept a second consecutive defeat though and Arrechea equalised in the 64th minute for Perlaza to net the winner with just five minutes to go.

Medellín lead with four points from their first two games, followed by Tolima with three. Nacional have two points and La Equidad are currently last with one point.
