Medellín and América draw again in Copa Libertadores

Independiente Medellín and América de Cali held each other to a
disappointing goalless draw at Atanasio Girardot stadium on Tuesday, a
result that helps neither side in their Copa Libertadores campaign.

The best chance of the match came five minutes after half time when Medellín’s Iván Corredor launched a shot on goal but hit the post.

The visiting side went a man down on 76 minutes as Juan Angulo conceded a second yellow card. DIM couldn’t take advantage though, and both sides remain without a win in this tournament.

Medellín are third after four consecutive draws, while América are last with just two points. Sao Paulo and Defensor both have four points from just two matches.

Colombia’s other representative, Boyacá Chicó, host Universidad de Chile on Wednesday.
