by Angela González January 24, 2010

Colombia news - film

Filming commenced this weekend on the set of “Recuerdame,” the first of six movies to be produced in the Colombian city of Cali the coming seven months.

Three producers have united their efforts, to make the six films in quick succession in a production whirlwind. The movies are to be filmed in the city of Cali in alliance with Telepacifico, ENIC Productions, CarlitosChance Films, and the Foundation for Latin Image.

“Recuerdame” (Remember Me) is a story of love that ends in madness, and is directed by Carlos Fernandez de Soto, who previously made “40” and “Colombiano, Un Acto de Fe.” The film was inspired by a quote from Tristan and Iseult and tells the story of a young architect who is driven to the brink of madness by the memory of a woman he used to love.

“It’s a beautifully told story,” said Andres Ogilvie Browne, who will star as Pablo, the young architect.

“Recuerdame” is the first of the six films to begin production. Other films to be recorded include “Fabula de una Conspiracion,” “La Sargento Matacho,” “Vuela la Paloma,” and a new film by Carlos Moreno, director of the acclaimed film “Perro Come Perro.”
