Manchester United joins James Rodriguez transfer rumor mill

British media reported on Wednesday that James Rodriguez might go to Manchester United, one day after Spanish press claimed he will join Real Madrid.

English tabloid the Daily Mirror reports that Manchester United are looking to sign the AS Monaco midfielder for a large sum. Louis Van Gaal, the replacement for manager David Moyes who was sacked after a disastrous season by Manchester United standards, is very keen on signing James.

The rumor mills have been connecting James with clubs everywhere after his breakout World Cup performance, the strongest links seeming to be with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Mirror also acknowledged that James did not want to join the Premier League, calling it “too physical.” James was the top scorer in the 2014 FIFA World Cup with six goals, and helped lead the Colombian national squad to the quarterfinals for the first time in its history.
