Porto reveal $62 million price tag on Colombian winger Rodriguez

Clubs interested in signing Colombian soccer phenom James Rodiguez will have to pay a hefty price after F.C. Porto announced the midfielder has a $62.8 million buy-out clause in his contract.

British tabloid Daily Mail reported earlier this week that English Premier League powerhouse Manchester United were interested in signing the 20-year-old winger to replace Portuguese superstar Nani, whose future at Old Trafford remains unclear. His club stayed quiet after Nani reportedly asked for a new contract that would pay him $188,000 a week.

Man U has previously offered $39.2 million for Rodriguez but will have to reach deeper into their coffers to secure the young talent.

The Cucuta-born player tallied 13 goals in 20 appearances this season in Portugal’s Primeira Liga.
