In a disturbing case of domestic violence, a man from Cali Friday intentionally ran over and killed his wife, while their daughter was in the car.
The man, identified as Orlando Ospina, an employee of telephone company Empresas Municipales de Cali, was reported to be arguing with his wife prior to the incident, reported Caracol Radio.
According to witnesses, the couple “were in a heated argument moments before the incident, and when [the wife] got out of the van, the husband put it into drive and ran her over, killing her instantly.”
The couple’s nine-year-old daughter was still in the van.
The murder took place in the Carlos Lleras Restrepo neighborhood in the eastern part Cali.
Following the incident, witnesses reported that the dead woman’s family members attempted to attack Ospina, who was detained by policemen shortly after the murder.
