Maduro brings “message of peace” and slams El Tiempo

“There’s a system of disinformation and manipulation, headed by El Tiempo and the family that runs it. They hate Venezuela,” Maduro said in an interview with RCN. El Tiempo is run by the Santos family. Two members of the Uribe administration, Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos and vice-President Francisco Santos are part of that same family.Maduro added that foreign newspapers like El País from Spain and U.S. newspaper Wall Street Journal are taking part in the same “disinformation campaign”.The Foreign Minister said he expected a full return of Venezuela’s diplomatic force to Bogotá soon and expressed his governments wish to further mediate the release of hostages, currently held by the FARC. Had Colombian President Álvaro Uribe not ended earlier mediation efforts, Maduro added, more hostages would’ve been with their families already.
