Macaco pleads not guilty on his first day in the U.S.

‘Macaco’ refused the assistance of public defender Gregory Spencer, who earlier defended FARC-leader Simón Trinidad, saying he already appointed two lawyers to defend him; Rick Diaz from Miami and Donna Newman, who earlier was able to get the life sentence of an Al-Qaeda member reduced to 17-years.Newman had already visited Macaco several times when he while being held in the Itaguí prison near Medellín.The court ruled the trial will begin on May 23.
