Failing to win Miss Colombia does not mean the end of an aspirant’s career. In some cases the runners-up end up having more successful careers as a model or in Colombian television than the winners.
RCN, one of Colombia’s two main television stations and employer of a vast number of former beauty queens, showed how Isabela Sofia Cabrales, Margarita Rosa de Francisco, Angela Patricia Janiot, Kathy Saenz and Carolina Cruz have achieved impressive careers despite failing to be named as Colombia’s most beautiful woman.
So keep an eye out for Lizeth Carolina Gonzalez Romero, who lost to Catalina Robayo at Miss Colombia 2010 earlier this month.
