‘Los viajes del viento’ receives ovation in Cannes

Colombian movie ‘Los viajes del viento’ received standing ovations at
the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday.

The official competition result
will be presented this Friday. The movie does not compete for the award ‘Palme d’Or’ but is included in the section ‘Un Certain Regard’ which reviews experimental works.

Presented on one of the most important Film festivals worldwide, ‘Los viajes del viento’ impressed both critics and the audience with its remarkable story, French press agency AFP reported.

In favor of the Colombian movie are the “strong visuals, the intelligent use of resources like the soundtrack and a sense of storytelling that honors the authors, especially in the final scenes of the film. This is certainly one of the best moments achieved by our young cinema”, culture website Vive.in Cine said.

A negative point could be the length and the distance of the movie which prevents the audience to emotionally connect with the story, the website added.

‘Los viajes del viento’ is about a accordion, a man, a teenage boy and a journey through northern Colombia, where they find the enormous diversity of the Caribbean culture and survive all kinds of adventures.
