Lawsuit against Shakira postponed

Shakira managed to postpone her latest court hearing claiming she and her lawyers had not been told about it.

According to local media, the hearing between the Colombian pop sensation and two former employees was supposed to take place on December 4 in Barcelona, but will now take place on February 7.

The two former employees allege their employment status was jeopardized when they refused to make Shakira a midnight snack. According to their complaints, they were then dismissed for refusing to sign termination papers.

The two ex-employees have threatened to release a sex tape of the Queen of Colombian pop and her current boyfriend, Gerard Pique, if she does not pay them $500 thousand.

“There is clear evidence of intentions to defame and cause harm to my client by taking advantage of her public persona and spotless personal reputation in exchange for money…at the bottom of this issue there are other interests,” said Shakira’s lawyer,

has always taken care of her employees “including caring for their family members. What [the plaintiffs] allege in the lawsuit is completely false.”

The pregnant Colombian singer is already mired in a $250 million lawsuit with her former manager and boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua.
