Landmine injures 12 coca eradicators

Twelve workers were injured in northern Colombia on Wednesday when a landmine exploded while they were eradicating coca plants.

The incident happened near the town of Santa Rosa in the south of the Bolivar department.

The victims were transported by helicopter to a hospital in the city of Bucaramanga for treatment.

According to local newspaper La Vanguardia, several illegal armed groups are active in the region.
