‘Karina’ will not receive benefits unless she confesses, says Holguín

“She is denying everything, as if she was walking around in the jungle, without doing anything,” he said in an interview with the radio station.‘Karina’, whose real name is Nelly Ávila Moreno, denied in a press conference Tuesday involvement in many crimes the government holds her responsible for.Holguín said that if Karina wants to enroll in any beneficiary program she would seriously have to confess her crimes and fully cooperate with the Justice Department.Ávila Moreno surrendered to authorities Sunday after fighting for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) for over twenty years. According to the government the head of ‘Front 47’ was one of the FARC’s most bloodthirsty member. Colombian President Álvaro Uribe made her capture a personal priority, because of her alleged involvement in the abduction and murder of his father.
