Junior lose but advance to Liga Postobon final

Junior are through to the final of the Colombian Liga Postobon, despite losing 1-0 to Independiente Medellin on Sunday.

Barranquilla-based Junior had already won the first leg 3-1, leaving Medellin with a tough task for the return game as Leonel Alvarez’s men now had to win by at least two goals.

Things went according to plan for Medellin when Edison Gimenez put the home side in the lead at 38 minutes, but this would be the only goal of the match.

The 3-2 aggregate result is enough for Junior to advance to the final, in which they will play against Bogota outfit La Equidad.
