Junior qualify for knockout stage of Copa Libertadores

Barranquilla team Junior qualified for the knockout rounds of the Copa Libertadores after a 2-1 home victory over Bolivia’s Oriente Petrolero.

Junior fell behind when Jhasmani Campos scored for Oriente three minutes into the second half, although the Bolivians were reduced to ten men just nine minutes later, as Marcelo Aguirre of Oriente was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Barranquilla took advantage of the extra man, with forward Carlos Bacca equalizing in the 67th minute. Four minutes later, Bacca scored again after Junior were awarded a penalty kick.

The victory means that the Colombian team progresses with a 100% record from their four games so far, with a further two games still left to play.
