Judicial strike leader says he was victim of assassination plot

Judicial strike leader Fabio Hernández claims unknown men tried to
assassinate him in his home just outside Bogotá Saturday night.

the Asonal president told newspaper El Tiempo three men fired shots at him and his family from the window while they were in the living room.

A neighbor called the police after the shooting. According to the unionist, the police then gathered evidence of the murder attempt

Hernández, leading the 20-day strike of approximately 40,000 Colombian court workers, immediately moved to Bogotá and asked Interior and Justice Minister Fabio Valencia for protection.
