Colombian singer Juanes returned to his hometown Medellin on Monday to meet with cultural leaders in the violence-ridden Comuna 13.

The singer visited the neighborhood to support cultural leaders and artists taking part in the “Grand Concert for Peace,” which will held in the heart of the neighborhood on Tuesday and attended by Juanes, one of Colombia’s most famous singers and activists.

Juanes had promised to visit Comuna 13 to support local leaders who are opposing the ongoing violence between gangs.
