Colombian artist Juanes released a tantalizing twenty-second taste of his long awaited new single, “Yerbatero” (Herbalist) on his website Tuesday, and is set to unleash the song in all its glory at the opening of the Soccer World Cup in South Africa.
The song will be released on radio stations from 62 countries around the globe, at 8pm Johannesburg time on June 11, to commemorate the Cup’s opening ceremony.
Juanes dedicates Yerbatero to “those who suffer from the terrible evil of love, and the ditty will be both the first song released by the Colombian crooner in three yeards, as well as the first single off his next album, due out in the fall.
Juanes has been working on his upcoming album in London under the production of the legendary Stephen Lipson, who has worked with Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox and Jeff Beck.
Juanes has won over 19 Grammys and sold over 12 million albums worldwide.
