Colombian singer Juanes has denied he is depressed and will not be performing for years, Spanish press agency EFE reports.
Instead of withdrawing from his music career, the singer will take a month off to spend time with his family, Juanes told EFE in an email.
The singer responded to statements by Fernan Martinez, his recently sacked manager, who told the spanish press agency that Juanes was withdrawing for three or four years due to a depression and personal problems, following disappointing results of his latest album P.A.R.C.E.
According to Juanes, Martinez is no longer his manager and all he wanted was spend time with his family.
“Now more than ever it is clear that my life is and will be about music forever, together with my family. There is nothing that makes me happier than playing the guitar and singing for my fans on stage. It’s a blessing and what has always saved me,” wrote Juanes.
Juanes announced his temporary “stop” himself on Twitter less than a week ago.
