Colombian superstar musicians Juanes and Shakira have been chosen to sing at the inauguration ceremony of this year’s soccer World Cup in South Africa, reported El Espectador on Wednesday.

The Colombian musicians were named as the ceremony’s representatives from the Latin American music scene and will perform alongside renowned artists such as Alicia Keys, Mali musicians Amadou y Miriam and Californian hip hoppers Black Eyed Peas.

According to website La Cuarta, Medellin-born Juanes will use the opportunity to debut material from his album “La Vida… Es un ratico,” as well as performing his new single taken from the EP.

“We are excited to organize a concert of this magnitude and with performances by such excellent artists to open Africa’s first World Cup,” said FIFA secretary Jerome Valcke.

The concert is set to take place on June 10 in Johannesburg’s Orlando Stadium.
