Colombia’s Fanny Lú took home an award for the song Y Si Te Digo, after receiving six nominations.Juanes took male pop album of the year honors for ‘La Vida Es Un Ratico’ and was honoured for his commitment to humanitarian work through his ‘Mi Sangre’ foundation. During the most emotionally charged moments of the show Juanes recieved the special ‘Spirit of Hope’ prize from the hands of big winner Guerra, while a large group of children and adults from Medellín, wearing white t-shirts saying “Peace”, praised the work the rocker does in Colombia.”I want to first thank God for the opportunity he has given me to understand music,” Juanes said. “Thank you all for thinking of a much better future, the inspiration not only of my songs but about life, the survivors of mines in Colombia, for the fans,” Juanes told the crowd.Both Fanny Lú and Juanes performed during the ceremony.
