Controversial Venezuelan spin-doctor J.J. Rendon claims that he donated an election advertisement, previously used by both Honduran President Porfirio Lobo and Mexican governor Jesus Alberto Aguilar, to Colombian Partido de la U presidential candidate Juan Manuel Santos.
Santos’ advertisement, which repeats the words “more jobs, better pay” over and over, is identical to Aguilar’s advertisement, and Lobo’s advertisement, apart from the names of the respective candidates.
Santos’ campaign team claims the advertisement is owned by Rendon and was not plagiarized but “donated.”
Rendon does not have a Colombian work visa and is not officially employed by Partido de la U. According to the party, the infamous publicist will only receive a paycheck if he achieves the desired outcome of helping Santos win the presidency.
Since Rendon arrived on the scene, Santos’ campaign has been accused of employing various underhand tactics.
