Interpol suspended international arrest warrants for rebel negotiators: FARC

Colombia’s largest rebel group FARC said Sunday that international police organization Interpol has suspended international arrest warrants for rebel leaders that are set to travel to Norway for peace negotiations with the government.

FARC negotiator “Hermes Aguilar” told Spanish press agency Efe by from from Cuba that “it was necessary to lift the arrest warrant to to attend [the peace talks] and be part of the delegation.”

Aguilar is one of the assistant negotiators traveling to the Norwegian capital of Oslo to attend the talks that aim to put an end to the country’s nearly half-a-century armed conflict between the rebels and the state.
