Interpol issues Red Notice against Dutch FARC guerrilla

Less than 24 hours after the United States announced it had indicted Tanja Nijmeijer, international police organization Interpol issues a request for the capture and extradition of the Dutch FARC guerrilla.

The police organization’s secretary general announced the notice against Nijmeijer, who is an active militant of the guerrillas’ Eastern Bloc.

According to Interpol, all its 188 members states have been notified of the Red Notice.

The U.S. Justice Department on Tuesday indicted Nijmeijer for her role in the kidnapping of three American military contractors who were held captive by the FARC from 2003 until 2008, when the Colombian army rescued them together with French-Colombian politician Ingrid Betancourt.
