International Day of Dance hits Cali

Cali, the salsa capital of Colombia, tried out some different moves on Thursday for the International Day of Dance, with contemporary and classical performances hosted by local ballet company Incolballet.

This weekend, Cali will celebrate the day with shows in various locations around the city. Presentations from local folklore, tango, salsa and break-dancers will be held April 29 at Valle University and the Tertulia Museum, and on April 30 the action will move to the Cristales Theater.

Officials used the occasion to announce the upcoming 4th International Ballet Festival, to be held in June.
