Indigenous suspend Cauca protests

The indigenous that have been protesting in Cauca all week have
suspended their protests after talks with Colombia’s Attorney General.

The native Colombian protesters will talk with Colombian Interior and Justice Minister Fabio Valencia Cossio Saturday, who will head to Cauca Saturday. Minister of Agriculture Andres Felipe Arias and Social Welfare Minister Diego Palacio will go to Cauca too and see if they can find agreement with the indigenous.

The indigenous demand the promised return of land that was stolen, better healthcare and education and want the government to take action against the increasing paramilitary violence against indigenous leaders.
