Indigenous Festival of the Wayuu Culture

Uribia, self-proclaimed Indigenous capital of Colombia, carries out the 23rd version of the Festival of the Wayuu Culture on 22, 23 and 24 May.

The Festival of the Wayuu Culture represents the most successful indigenous culture in Colombia. It has also become a festival of folklorists, dancers, artists, peots, painters, athletes, sculptors and musicians.

This year the festival carries the theme “Intercultural and peaceful coexistence”. Forums and conversations will take place on this topic as well as exhibitions of visual artists, craft exhibitions, gastronomic shows, traditional music and traditional dancing contest.

“I invite all Colombians and Venezuelans who have always been with us. Come and celebrate with us and all Wayuus these four days of Culture”, Cielo Redondo Mindiola, organizer of the event, said.
