Colombian coffee farmers strike deal with NY company

New York’s White Coffee Corporation sealed a major business deal with a group of Colombian coffee farmers, Diario de Huila reported Wednesday.

White Coffee Corporation supplies specialty coffees to businesses in the U.S. and has placed an initial order of 200 bags of coffee from the Primaveral Association of Coffee Farmers (Asoprimaveral). Alexander Rengifo from the Specialty Coffee Exporter of Colombia says that another “30,000 pounds of coffee will be shipped” to the White Corporation in the coming months.

Asoprimaveral is an association of 24 coffee growers from the Huila region that produces premium coffee for the global market. “Our mission is to promote social and economic prosperity for our coffee farmers and their families, so we hope this business will become an important starting point for new developments. We are supporting programs that improve our quality of life and as producers we are stronger as we achieve our goal of offering high quality coffee and meet the demands of our partners and of the international market,” Elias Roa president of the Primaveral Association explained.

Products of White Coffee Corporation are labeled “fair trade” by Fair Trade USA and are available online at www.whitecoffee.com.
