Hospital workers join national strike

40,000 Colombian hospital workers will join National Registry workers,
teachers and sugarcane cutters in a 24-hour national strike Thursday.
Bank personnel also announced actions, Caracol Radio reported Monday.

Hospital workers, teachers, bank employees, airline personnel and workers in the energy sector will not work on Thursday. The canecutters have been striking to demand better woring conditions for weeks.

Bank personnel announced they will work that day, but will shut banks down for a few minutes.
