Honest Colombian taxi driver returns $6000

A taxi driver in the northern Colombian city of Cartagena returned an envelope containing more than $6000 to its rightful owner after finding it in his cab Sunday.

Antonio Perez Babylonia, the cab driver in question, dropped off a fare Sunday and found more than $6000 in an envelope in his back seat. Babylonia said that he was initially tempted to keep the money, as his son was in need of a new computer, but eventually came to the decision to return the money to its owner.

Babylonia said he found his previous fare crying when he found him, and the man quickly explained that he needed the money for a heart operation and that he had taken out a mortgage on his farm to obtain the money. Babylonia returned the money and has become something of a local hero since news of his good deed leaked out.
